What is Cambridge MF19?
MF19 is the official List of Formulae and Statistical Tables booklet published by Cambridge International for AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) and Further Mathematics (9231). The exam centre provides a clean copy for every paper — students do not need to bring their own. It contains formulae and tables, not teaching explanations, so the key skill is knowing when and how to use each item.
Pure Mathematics
Core formulae used across mensuration, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, and numerical methods.
Mechanics
Formulae that support motion, force, work, energy, momentum, elastic strings, and modelling questions.
Statistics
Key probability, distribution, expectation, variance, Poisson, and statistical-table references.
Further Mathematics
Advanced formulae for students preparing for Cambridge Further Mathematics 9231.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is MF19?
MF19 is the official List of Formulae and Statistical Tables booklet published by Cambridge International for AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) and Further Mathematics (9231) examinations. It is sometimes called List MF19 on official Cambridge documents.
Is MF19 allowed in the exam?
Yes. MF19 is provided in every paper of 9709 (Papers 1–6) and every paper of 9231 (Papers 1–4). The exam centre hands out an official clean copy alongside the question paper — you do not need to request it separately.
Do all students receive it?
Yes — for 9709 and 9231, MF19 is issued in every single examination paper. No paper in these syllabuses excludes it. MF19 is not provided for other Cambridge subjects such as IGCSE or other AS & A Level subjects.
Should I memorise every formula?
No. Learn the meaning, conditions, and correct use of each formula. Use MF19 to support recall, not replace understanding. Note that some fundamental formulas (such as basic coordinate geometry) are not in MF19 and must be memorised.
Can I highlight my own revision copy?
You may annotate your personal revision copy for study purposes, but do not bring any personal copy into the exam room. The invigilator distributes official clean copies of MF19 on the day. Bringing your own copy — annotated or clean — is a breach of exam regulations.
Is the booklet different for Further Mathematics?
The same MF19 booklet is used for both 9709 and 9231. However, sections labelled Further Pure Mathematics, Further Mechanics, and Further Probability & Statistics (including t-distribution, chi-squared, and Wilcoxon tables) are relevant only to 9231 students.
How do I practise with MF19?
Use it during topical questions, timed past papers, and short search drills so locating formulae becomes automatic.
Did MF19 replace an older booklet?
Yes. MF19 replaced the previous List MF10 booklet in 2020. If you use past papers from before 2020, they may reference MF10 — the content is similar but MF19 is the current official version for all examinations from 2020 onwards.
